250 millions years ago, the Earth's continents were fused into a single landmass called Pangaea. Contemporary geological evidence and continental plate motions predict that over the course of the next 250 million years, Australia will collide with Southeast Asia and China, California will slide northwards and Africa will collide with Southern Europe, closing the Mediterranean - thus resulting in the return of Pangaea.
